The Sound of Singing Youth Labor Day Weekend Reunion and Tribute to the late Aubrey Edwards was a wonderful time of sharing, catching up, and celebration!

We instantly rolled back the clock four decades to the 1970's....

 ...to the days when the inter-denominational Sound of Singing Youth performance group impacted the lives of hundreds of Hendersonville's youth, and countless others as they traveled on mission trips from the northeast to south Florida, spreading messages of love for Jesus Christ and their country. 

 

Sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville, NC, the Sound of Singing Youth was the creation of its director, the late Aubrey Edwards.  Between 1971 and 1977, several hundred local teens sang, played instruments, or served as crew members to coordinate the lights, audio and visual equipment for performances. 

 

It is our goal to identify and locate all of those former members, no matter how long it may take.  We also wish to honor the memories of all deceased members and to let their families know they are not forgotten.  Please send an email to SoundofSingingYouth@gmail.com to identify yourself, your family member, or your friend as a former participant, along with any contact information you can provide.
