The Bible says in Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Throughout our history, First Baptist Church of Hendersonville has a proven track record of following God’s vision for a greater impact. Our vision of Transformation moves us once again to asking the question, “Are we making the greatest impact possible in our community?”.
Momentum has been building in our church over the past couple of years. After an unfortunate time of decline in attendance from 2001 to 2008, we are now seeing a return to a pattern of growth at First Baptist Church. New ministries such as the Crosswalk Student Center, Celebrate Recovery, English as a Second Language, AWANA and many more are bringing new people to our church.
Our vision is "Transformation." The Bible teaches that God's goal for our lives is transformation. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." Transformation begins when people receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. We move from death to life. Transformation continues as we grow in Him. We are continually being transformed into Christ-likeness.
Adjusting our Sunday morning worship schedule will enable us to see more lives transformed! The past 17 years have proven the success of the celebration style of worship in reaching new people. We are a blessed church with a wonderful history. First Baptist Church has made necessary adjustments in the past to impact the most lives. Once again, we stand at the starting gate of a tremendous opportunity to introduce more people to Jesus Christ. Henry Blackaby, in his Experiencing God study, teaches individuals and churches to move where God is working. Our contemporary worship style has been a place of God's fruitfulness. We are simply joining God where He is blessing.
